Low Carbon Energy and the Environment
Professor Andrew Lovett from CSERGE is leading a research project on the impact of the UK's future energy mix on the natural environment.
Researchers will quantify the implications of differing future UK low-carbon energy pathways for stocks of natural capital (e.g. groundwater and natural habitats) and for the provision of ecosystem services (e.g. irrigation, visual amenity, recreation).
The project aims to provide public and private sector decision makers with tools to integrate both energy and environmental considerations in future low-carbon energy options.
The project is funded by the Natural Environment Research Council.
